Dust collects along the top edge and folds close to windows. Use a soft vacuum attachment at low power and work from top to bottom without pulling the fabric.
Clean the window area
Removing dust from frames and glass helps stop it returning quickly to the curtain. Also watch for moisture or condensation close to the fabric.
When is specialist cleaning useful?
When odours become noticeable, folds change colour or marks do not respond to light vacuuming, the fabric should be inspected and a suitable method selected.
